Place value is the first topic children meet and the last one they master. It underpins rounding, decimals, estimation and measure conversion — which is why it appears throughout every 11+ paper, often in questions that don't look like place value at all. This 18-page workbook teaches the topic to the depth the 11+ actually demands. Every section is built on three levels, so the same book stretches a Year 4 pupil beginning their preparation and supports a Year 5 pupil already sitting mock papers.


Warm-Up — secures the basics up to six digits. Aim for full marks.

Step-Up — larger numbers, decimals, negative numbers and measure conversions. Challenge — reasoning, inverse rounding and multi-step puzzles at grammar and independent school standard.
